Giattina Aycock Architecture Studio Education Projects
BRYANT CONFERENCE CENTER
In honor of the achievements of former Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach, Paul W. “Bear” Bryant, the University of Alabama asked Giattina Aycock Architecture Studio to design a complex of facilities dedicated to the continuing education needs of adults and alumni.
A campus within the main campus, this complex includes four buildings framing an outdoor classroom space. The buildings house conference spaces, a museum honoring Coach Bryant’s achievements, the Office of Alumni Affairs and an upscale lodging facility with 150 guest rooms. As the first major campus expansion in recent years, this project serves as a bridge from the campus to the statewide community, where former students can return to the world of academia without full immersion in campus mayhem.
