BANK OF TUSCALOOSA
Located on the new campus of the Bank of Tuscaloosa Plaza, a corporate office development by Tuscaloosa Riverfront Development, LLC, the Bank of Tuscaloosa’s New Riverfront Branch will be the bank’s commercial face to the busy Jack Warner Parkway and the central drive-thru for its corporate headquarters.
The branch bank’s central purpose is to provide drive-thru and ATM functions. A transparent lobby book ends the site’s pedestrian spine with the 100,000 square foot office complex and provides an entrance for incidental foot traffic. The public lobby and teller functions are located within the central transparent volume which is visually enforced on the exterior by a thin stainless canopy. This volume bisects the offices, which are enclosed in a granite rain screen, emphasizing the division between public and private functions. A material palette of glass, granite, and stainless steel are used to define function and space and create a clear relationship to the nearby headquarters building. |
